Note to Self: It's Okay to Relax

These days, we’ve started to equate being busy with being significant. I have never seen this mindset more blatantly apparent than in Los Angeles, where everyone seems to be a writer-photographer-musician-actor who also works in a law office or delivers DoorDash during the day. Work is great, and having multiple things going for you is never a bad thing. But being overworked is potentially devastating.

Merry and Bright: Happy Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve! A year and a half ago, I had all but given up on doing Rachel Off Duty. Blogging is time-consuming, costly, and at times, stressful, especially when you don’t always see the instant gratification of having thousands of readers or subscribers. But the support I’ve received since starting back up again has honestly been so inspiring, and as fun as 2017 has been, I cannot wait to see what 2018 brings.

Fear of Missing Out

We live in a social media-driven, impatient, insatiable age where the hunger to constantly be experiencing and sharing things is as much of a common denominator as it is a burden. Really though, I think that everyone in their 20s right now feels a similar insatiable hunger. A desire–a need–to go out and do everything, be everywhere, and try new things constantly.
