I love writing about and sharing brands that I am personally inspired by. Having a background in content marketing, I know just how important it is to do more than just take a picture, tag it, and call it a day. All of my collaborations feature real stories and opinions. If you've been following along for some time, you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and recently, I've been trying to make a point of helping to spread that awareness on social media. To me, it's brutally personal.
The Kimpton Goodland is a boutique hotel located in Goleta, CA. After we checked in, we navigated through the chic interiors, outdoor fire pits, poolside gatherings, and colorful walls to find our room. The Goodland can best be described as boho surf chic, a coastal-inspired decor-lover’s dream, and everywhere you looked, you couldn’t help (in this day and age) to think, “wow, that would make a good Instagram post.”
One of my favorite menswear pieces is the moto jacket. It’s been a staple for decades, and it’s adapted so effortlessly into womenswear, with tons of flattering cuts, fun textures, and unexpected colors. It’s almost impossible to put on a moto jacket and not look instantly cooler, more put-together, or more effortlessly badass.
You know the saying. “It’s not about what you know, it’s about who you know.” You’ve probably hear some iteration of this at one point or another. I can recall back in college when I first moved to California and learned the importance of “networking,” and I remember thinking to myself that networking seemed to come so easily to everybody… but me.
Think back to when you were in high school, or college. How did you dress, and why?
Rather than buying new winter clothes you’ll rarely wear, opt for the pieces you already own, even if they’re technically meant for warmer months. With a few quick pairing swaps, you can probably transform almost any summer piece into a winter-appropriate situation.
There’s an effortlessness to monochrome style that I think a lot of people are somewhat hesitant about (myself included). Get it right, and you look like someone who understands style and color to a T. Get it wrong, on the other hand, and you might wind up looking like someone who hasn’t grown out of his or her matching set-wearing childhood days.
If there’s one thing about me I’ve always found kind of funny, it’s that I kind of hate–and am just genuinely confused by–beauty routines. Now, don’t get me wrong. I care about my health and my appearance just as much as the next woman, but most of the time, while I appreciate beauty products, I don’t even really get excited about makeup (except lipstick–that’s a completely different story). But this whole encounter inspired me to share the few practical things I do do to take care of my beauty health despite constantly being on-the-go. For all the girls who are too busy, or just can’t be bothered by beauty routines, read on. This one’s for you.
Centrally located and brazen in design, citizenM Glasgow is charming and certainly not without its quirks, and within seconds of stepping into the bright red lobby, our stress and exhaustion started to dissolve as we stood there, taking in what could honestly only be described as an Alice in Wonderland-inspired interior designer’s play room.
For many, a drive around the Golden Circle is an all-day affair, visiting can’t-miss sights like waterfalls, geysers, and craters all before ending up back in Reykjavik, where many of the most traditional and easy-to-book hotels and Airbnbs can be found. But, for adventurous travelers looking for a more unusual, off-the-beaten-path, unforgettable experience while coasting along this Loop, that’s where this place comes in.
From figuring out where to strategically place your shampoo so it doesn’t burst open during the flight, to seeing just how many pairs of shoes you can realistically get away with bringing without exceeding the baggage weight restriction, packing your bag–or bags–for a trip is, in my opinion, the worst. What’s even worse, though? Jetting off to somewhere cold, and making sure you’re bringing everything you need to stay warm.
There’s a reason women in stilettos and skin-tight dresses stand out. And, at least in my opinion, it’s not because they look good (although, yes, they might). It’s because, half of the time, you can just tell that they’re not comfortable.
Okay. So let’s say you bought a house, or signed a lease for a new apartment. Or maybe you’re just over it with your Craigslist–or college–furniture and are thinking that it’s finally time you sold it all (or burned it) and moved on. I found myself in one of these situations a few months ago
